Every so often a film comes along that stops you in your tracks.........enter The Help!
I hit the jackpot by gaining access to an advanced screening of the film and off I went with the rest of figleaves’ marketing team. Feeling like celebrities, we rubbed shoulders with journalists in the lobby. Keen to take full advantage, I had an endless flow of orange juice (it was a school night after all!) and parked myself next to the nibbles table! A bag of popcorn (sweet, of course!) later, we entered the theatre!
I’m ashamedly not a book lover but I had heard ‘the Help’ was topping bestseller lists all over the place so with figleaves partnering up with the release, I was really eager to see the film! The film has a very credible cast and is truly inspiring. You are transported into a world where you catch a glimpse of how tough times really were, being set on the dawn of the civil rights movement;
“Set in 1962, Mississippi US, the films tells the story of a world where black maids raise white children but aren’t trusted not to steal the silver.....”
It was a very touching representation, the unity of women is both empowering and heartwarming! From the costumes and set build, to laugh-out-loud humour, this film a must-see following its official release on October 26th!
We're offering one lucky person and 8 friends the chance to win a private screening of their own! Click here to find out more...Good luck!
