The Oscars is without a doubt my favourite annual award ceremony, not just for the excitement and anticipation of who will scoop Best Picture but just to see what fashion designers our fave celebs are wearing.
Last night I curled myself up on the sofa with a cup of tea and some yummy cheesecake and waited patiently for the show to start. My money was on The King’s Speech for the best movie of the year, or Black Swan. Plenty of my friends disagreed with me about Black Swan but I stand by it; I thought the film was brilliant. Deeply unsettling and unsatisfying but at the same time, strangely addictive.
Much to my delight, The King’s Speech won best picture. I love Colin Firth and it’s great that actors like him and Best Supporting Actor Christian Bale are putting the UK’s talent on the radar in Hollywood. I also read an article about him recently and he was quoted saying how much he loved his wife and would never be tempted to stray as she is simply the most beautiful woman in the world. That made me fall for him all over again!!
I’ve narrowed my favourite Oscar red carpet looks down to three (that was very hard!) Natalie Portman looked flawless, her dress complimented her baby bump beautifully and she looked radiant and comfortable. I just love that grape colour against her skin.

Michelle Williams donned a beautiful dress on the red carpet, a chic Chanel Couture gown. In my opinion she oozed class and femininity and definitely made the right choice to keep it minimal and wear no jewellery.

Another favourite was Mandy Moore’s nude Monique Lhuillier gown. She seems to be keeping herself off the radar just lately but she’s definitely came back with vengeance. She looked absolutely stunning!

I’m enjoying reading all of the hype this morning and catching up with the tabloid’s best and worst dressed. (Coffee in hand as I fight the tiredness!!)
Who was your best dressed?
