Hello all! I am writing to tell you about my wonderful day at the London Fashion Week show but firstly to introduce myself, I am Hayley and I joined figleaves.com in December last year. Although I have only been with the company a few months I have been made to feel so welcome that it feels like I have been here forever! Primarily my job role is to write product copy for the site and work within the Marketing team, I really love it and every day I am becoming more of a lingerie expert and a figleaves.com brand guardian.
With my new job going so well, you can imagine my excitement when I received an email to ask if I would like go to the London Fashion Week show on behalf of the company. Of course this didn’t require much thought, I would love to go! Very excited by the concept, Keeley (my lovely new colleague and PR queen) and I started to plan outfits, charge our cameras and plan our route.
Come Monday morning we were off to Freemason’s Hall, Covent Garden and very excited to see the shows and exhibitions that the Vauxhall London Fashion Scout had in store for us. We started at the ‘Felicities Presents’ presentation where we gazed at amazing pieces from designers such as Edward Finney who used wonderful tailoring skills to create beautiful pieces; he has worked for Alexander McQueen! The jewellery by Imogen Belfield definitely caught our eye; in textured metals, this unique collection has an organic twist and it seems to me that every girl should own a piece (including me!).
My favourite designer of the day had to be Georgia Hardinge with her ‘Spined’ collection. This collection of stunning clothing featured her signature architectural style in beautifully sculptured designs; a treat for the London Fashion Week show. After hours of excitement in various exhibitions we sat comfortably ready to watch the A LA DISPOSITION catwalk show, which was truly sensational. ‘The Utopian Aviary’ catwalk showcased designs of textural arrangement, stunning layering and ruffling; a dazzling display of voluminous pieces.
