I started my Marketing Internship with figleaves.com on Monday and was extremely excited when they asked me to come along to their Autumn/Winter 2010 Press Day on the Thursday and write a blog for them about my experience. The event was being held at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden, seeing as I had never been to an event like this before I didn’t quite know what to expect.
As I walked through the modern gallery space, I was met by the Autumn/Winter figleaves ranges which were placed out in transitional themes, telling specific stories. From sultry lace trimmed silk chemises and camisoles to beautiful bras I was wowed. Luxurious cashmere cardigans offer a deluxe touch to layered loungewear, providing anyone with the excuse to stay in on those cold wintery nights!
There were rails all around the space, I looked through them all and Butterfly Blue caught my eye, figleaves own brand of playful teddies and bra sets, featuring funky floral prints, polka dots and stripes.
Midnight Grace followed, a range specifically for the fuller busted women giving structured support in sizes D-G. The range had a glamorous theme based on deeper and richer colours perfect for matching with evening wear.
My favourite theme was Boudoir; this vintage chic style reflected all that was quintessentially French. Pretty lace plunge bras mixed with nude/cream satin and delicate lace corsets gave a sexy yet sophisticated homage to the past.
Show stopping mannequins dressed in lingerie and nightwear surrounded the themes, giving an insight into how to achieve the perfect look and fit of the product. Refreshments, press booklets and nibbles were provided; encouraging press and figleaves Marketing and PR staff to mingle.
After a coffee and a pastry, I headed back to the office, visiting the press day was a great experience as I was able to see first hand the work that goes into promoting new products and how the press plays a part in channelling figleaves ranges to their existing and potential customers.
Sit tight for the Autumn/Winter range to hit the website, but here are my favourite bits of the Spring/Summer range; Butterfly Blue and figleaves boudoir style are perfect for the summer months.
This gorgeous Butterfly Blue bra is perfect for summer, the smooth satin finish is great under jersey tops.
Boudoir style, this set will look great peeking out under a lightweight summer dress:
Happy Shopping!
