Thursday afternoon and thoughts turn to the weekend, while the bank holiday creeps ever closer... As summer draws to a close it's time to make the most of relaxed styling and deliciously soft jersey before the mood for tailoring takes over.
To keep the look laidback but luxe, layer up fine jersey tops and wear with your favourite denim (where did the sun go?). It's all about simplicity and the luxury of cut and fabric. If I'm feeling adventurous I'll go for a mix of clashing colours, but on a slow sunday morning it just feels so nice and relaxed to go for muted tones, maybe a soft dove grey over white or pink. American Vintage and Splendid are both great for really fine jersey essentials so I've stocked up on their vests, but try figleaves if you want a bit of detailing.
On the off-chance it heats up (!), I'm bagging a pair of hareem pants from the Outlet before they go. They'll work well with a simple fitted top, and maybe piles of jewellery for going out.
Any tips for making a laidback style work for evening too? Don't think I'll be able to get away with lounge pants... perhaps a pair of skinny jeans is the best way to go!
