Lingerie solutions in the US press today, starting with Freya in Ladies' Home Journal. A real customer favourite, the Freya Rio bra is shown here in fuchsia and still available on the site in beige, black and white. It's LHJ's recommendation as a minimizing bra.

Now that Barack Obama is safely ensconced in the White House, America is gripped by a new debate: to thong or not to thong? Agony aunty Dear Abby (aka Abigail Van Buren, whose mother Pauline Phillips founded the syndicated column) has received thousands of replies ever since she published a letter from a "San Diego Sinner" whose mother thinks that wearing thongs is sinful.
Abby's postbag included a rousing "thongs up" from an ordained minister, you will be relieved to hear. And while thongs have lost out to boy shorts in the fashion stakes recently, they're still mighty popular - especially at this time of year. Sexy and practical (no risk of VPL when you're wearing a thong, after all) - what's not to love? Right: a new arrival from Odille.
It's never too early to start talking about swimwear, particularly now that the February half term holiday is not too far away. So let's take a look at some of our favourite figure fixers, starting today with the longer torso. If you are long in the body, finding a one-piece can be something of a trial: it's tempting to go up a size in order to get the length, but this often results in a swimsuit that's too baggy on top - not a flattering look and one with a real risk of an embarrassing swimwear malfunction. News just in from the Paris menswear shows: it looks like we'll all be stepping out in our pyjamas next season thanks to Yohji Yamamoto, who showed his deluxe pyjamas for day on the catwalk yesterday. "I was looking for the very most luxurious moment and I found it's before sleeping," Yamamoto told The Associated Press.
And women needn't feel left out - in fact, we can get a head start on the trend thanks to Dolce & Gabbana, who showed glam silk pjs for spring/summer 09. Don't know about you but I can't get a sniff of the treadmill at the gym right now - January is way too busy for my liking. Anyway, it's the time of year to get active, and This Morning got in on the act this week when it put the latest sports bras to the test. Don't know about you but I am totally intrigued by the High School Musical workout flagged on the cover of Shape magazine this month - sounds like much more fun than the treadmill. Trendspotting - see what we did there? Yes, we have our first spring trend of 2009 thanks to these spotty new arrivals from Lejaby (below left and right) and Freya (below middle). The red and white colour combo is traditional for Valentines, of course, but doesn't the bright green look fresh? Bright colour was back in a big way on the catwalk this season - so whatever hue you choose for your Valentines dots this year, any colour goes as long as it pops.
Lindsay Lohan (pictured here at the opening of the Atlantis in Dubai last year) hit the beach over the new year in a very chic black bikini - turns out it's by one of our favourite brands, French label Huit. As featured on InStyle's website yesterday, it's from last year's spring/summer collection and sadly no longer available, but here are some of Huit's newly-arrived resort looks to make up for it.
