Princesse Tam-Tam making-of video

It's always a pleasure to feature Princesse Tam-Tam and when the brand's autumn/winter collection is so gorgeous, well, it's rude not to. Thanks to The Lingerie Post for pointing us in the direction of this making-of video - a behind-the-scenes look at the current campaign with photographer Terry Richardson and model Trish Goff. Enjoy.

Bra tops and red bras

Lots of bras in the news today thanks mainly to Prada who, not content with sending models down the runway in shoes that made them fall over, was also showcasing some fetching bra tops for spring/summer 2009.

Meanwhile, the red lingerie trend is not going down too well with the Go Fug Yourself girls, who picked up on Private Practice star Audra McDonald's red-bra-under-blue-dress faux pas. Trick of the light? Or would we all be advised to save our red lingerie for when we're wearing red outerwear too? (It is the colour of the season, after all).

This pretty illustration of Chantelle's Chantilly demi bra appeared in this month's issue of Domino, which picked out the new essentials "for stocking your lingerie arsenal". What they said about this bra? "Strategic seams hold you in place and enhance your profile."

Even better: it's currently available at $73.50, reduced from $105.

Charnos in OK!

Ok_september_30th_2Charnos_3

OK!'s 'Ask Emma' column comes to the rescue this week: in answer to a reader's request for "a smooth silhouette and a fearsome cleavage", the weekly recommends this slimming but sexy Charnos corselette. "As well as making you look fantastic, you'll feel wonderful knowing you've got such a tempting piece of lingerie on under your killer dress!" says Emma.

Hare raising bras

Here's a heartwarming tale for a Monday morning: a baby hare, rescued from the cooking pot, has been nursed to health inside a woman's bra. Margi Heath kept the hare in her bra to keep her warm; now three months old and called Miracle, the hare keeps Mrs Heath company when she goes to the village to watch the cricket. More in the Daily Telegraph.

Shape up with Oprah

Fl_oprah_october_cover
This month's Oprah magazine sings the praises of Flexees by Maidenform's high rise control brief ("useful now with low-rise jeans on the wane") but plenty more of our shapewear brands get a namecheck to: Va Bien, The Body Wrap, Grenier and Miraclesuit all feature too in this issue's fuller figure fashion feature.

Matchy matchy Mel B, Geldof girls and the weird world of Syrian knickers

R1676p458542style_2

  • Mel B is clearly taking her promotional duties for Ultimo seriously. "I never have embarrassing knickers," she told OK magazine in New York. Extend that woman's contract!
  • Wanna star in a lingerie ad? It helps to be a Geldof girl. Pixie is following in her sister's footsteps to pose for Agent Provocateur, and she has the blessing of Sir Bob, says WENN.
  • Here's one for your reading list: The Secret Life of Syrian Lingerie. If you like your underwear with bells, whistles and a good dose of humour, Syria is the place to go, we hear. Who knew?
  • Inappropriate marketing wheeze of the month: a pub in Australia is inviting women to flash their underwear in return for free drinks, says Reuters. We'll pass, thanks.

The fight against back fat continues

Well it looks as though our Bra-lellujah! story the other day was more timely than first suspected, because the back has become latest craze in body anxiety. There's a flurry of reports today about the newest trend in cosmetic surgery - yes, you can now eliminate all those back bulges with the help of a back lift. It's called the "bra-line back lift" because the scar can be hidden underneath your bra. All very effective I'm sure, but a nice shaping camisole might be altogether less painful.
