Rumour has it that our favourite trans-atlantic footballer is helping Armani underwear celebrate their launch in the US.

Emporio Armani has been on sale in the UK and Europe for many years and they are soon to make the leap across the pond, so the obvious choice to front the campaign is our very own David Beckham, I for one cannot wait to see the results of the photoshoot!

Manchester City are pants...

Simon writes:  Well, actually they are not, they've been playing some nice football this season but their matchwinner last night went a little too far in his celebration, pulling down his shorts to reveal the underwear of choice at Eastlands, City's stadium.  And whilst we admire the retro angle taken by Stephen in revealing a pair of Superman undies, we think he might have been more comfortable in some Bjorn Borg painted stripe briefs, now those would have made a real statement....

• Eight year old twins Jason and Justin Serovich have invented wedge-proof underwear - you might have caught their appearance on The Ellen deGeneres Show (AP).
• If you're relying on a pair of Spanx to get you through the festive season, you're not alone. Shapewear sales are rocketing, says the Daily Mail.
• The women of Inglewood, New Zealand, are knickerless no more, reports the West Australian. Following a campaign by the so-called Knicker Vicar, last Thursday saw the first knicker run - a bus service to nearby New Plymouth to stock up on smalls.

A couple of great gifts from Mary Green in Red's Christmas gift guide this month. First, here's the Breakfast at Tiffany's eye mask (just like the one in the movie), £19, in the seductive gifts page. It's been flying out of the warehouse but we are expecting more deliveries so do keep an eye out.

Can't say we feel the same about Rachel Zoe since Nicole Richie called her a raisin face, but she does know how to rock a red carpet. And it was reassuring to read in this month's InStyle that her starry clients have the same insecurities as the rest of us. "We use a lot of undergarments - Spanx, Cosabella slimmers, nipple covers. I've even had tailors build full body-slimmers that go from the ankles to the bust."
