The fashion police are watching even when you're tucked up in bed watching Newsnight. Want to stay ahead in the nightwear stakes? Then ditch the flannel pjs and join the negligee revolution: the silky slip is having a moment, says the Daily Mail, with £17 million worth being sold in the past year.
Over at figleaves.com, we've noticed it too. "We have seen an increase in sales of negligees from brands like Julianne [pictured above]. They are more expensive than before, but this is because they are made from silk and Leavers lace, much more expensive materials," says our nightwear buyer Amanda Lepar.
"I think the trend of wearing negligees as outwear has helped - they are so wearable, you often can't tell the difference between ready to wear to sleepwear."
